Default Language

Assamese and bodo are the two main and official languages of assam but bengali also holds the status of a official language in some districts of the barak valley.

Also people from the neighbouring states are settled here working in the tea,coffee estates and mines. They include hindi, bengali and some others also. So its a mixed bag here.

But i heard that recently the activities of the LTTE has ruines the place and its beauty. people are now leaving at the first oppurtunity.

Assamese,also known as ahamiya, bodo and a dialect of bengali all sufficeas local languages.

People from Assam are not leaving there homes. They may be moving oout for some time but they would not be leaving this place for long time as it would not be possible to do so.
