Assam has very few industries. Mainly their are large tea factories and the other one are the petrolium refineries situated their. |
|

|
In a place which is surrounded by hills and mountains and lush forest, not much industries can be started. But they do have some mines which do good business for them. |

Thank God they are not thinking of deforestation. Thats something our country is still lagging behind dosent think twice while engaging in such activities. |

Tea is the main industry in Assam and it is widely produced here in Assam. It is then transported to all other parts of India. |

Here there is terrace cultivation,so rice is grown. Apart from this tea is grown abundantly. |

Cutting of trees was banned in Assam and the other 6 states of this region some 10 years back. Since then all of the wood cutting saw mills have shifted into Gujarat in the Gandhiham-Kandla complex. |

This could have a very much negative effect on this region. I think they should allow cutting in some place and should also look for ward for agroforestry which would be the best second option for this kind of state. |
