Default Venkatappa Art Galler

Among the many art galleries in Bangalore, this surely needs to be visited. Spread across two floors, it displays almost 600 paintings throughout the year.
Mr. Venkatappa was born in 1887 to a family of painters. His works that include a scenic view of the lake at Ooty, Niligiri Mountains at Kodaikanal, sunrise at Ooty, etc. are displayed on the ground floor. First floor displays works of present artists like M.F. Hussain, Rekha Rao, N.S. Bendre, etc. and exquisite woodcarvings of C.P. Rajaram. The second floor is dedicated solely to K.K. Hebbar. His paintings are based mainly on the elements of nature- air, water, land, fire, etc.
