Is Fish the major food?

I have heard that people in Madras like to eat fish as this is available in plenty in there region and they have it with rice mostly. Is this true ?

I have even been told that finding a north indian style food is very difficult. Restaurants generally do not serve Punjabi and north indian food.

yep... we do get fish in good quantity here as we have a great seaside... and ppl do prefer fish here.... this protein is less costly and very healthy.. also its not true that you don get north indian dishes buddy... every hotel or restaurant now have these food ... except the traditional ones which have been living from deacdes ago like the "saravana bava" etc..

Its a cosmo city, I believe. All kinds of food must be available. And fish is generally associated with West Bengal. Although I cannot comment the same for Chennai..
