A visit to Haridwar

Everyone must have listened about Ganga. Situated on the bank of river Ganga is Haridwar. It is one the India’s famous holy cities.

Many big and small temples are located here near different ghats.
Some of the famous temples are Daksh temple.
It was built by Daksh Prajapati. There is a legend behind this temple.
Daksh was the father of Parvati, wife of Lord Shiva.
Once, he held a “yagna” but he did not invite Lord Shiva.
As Parvati could not tolerate her husband’s insult, she jumped into the “kund”
Where “yagna” was going on.

At this, Lord Shiva in a fit of rage, devasted the whole fort.

“this place became popular with the name of sati kund”

In Hardiwar, u will find this “kund” very interesting.

There is a temple of Godess Ganga situated on the banks of Ganga.

There is “Neeldhara”, “Naina Devi” and temples of various gods.

This place offers variety of delicious like “halwa “, “puri-bazii” and sweet rasgullas and mallpuas.
