Default Trams?

The only city in India with Trams..traveling by trams is such a pleasure..you pass from the middle of the road with a feeling of traveling in a Train...Awesome Experience...has any one experienced it?

I love trams. The trams are not working now because of electricity reasons and also because of increasing population. Trams take alot of time to reach from one place to another.

this is the best possible transport in calcutta now i think and it has been followed for a long time.. also the feeling is great. hope to get a ride on it very soon. i know that trams were there long back in bangalore as well ... but now they are long lost treasure...

But they really slow and often are the cause of traffic jams. You can ride it for fun but only if you have time to kill by yourself.

You are right. The government has taken enough steps to save power. They absorb more power. But still, being the age old traffic system it is very good to travel with. The britishers have done a good job at those days but now they are not worth.

Yeah.. its takes you back to the old age and gives you a glimpse of the past. it can be a very good experience if you are not in a hurry.

Trams are obsolete way of covering distances now. The guzzle electricity which is not available as freely as it used to be some 20 years back. Delhi has a best mode of transportation-Metro. I think calcutta should also extend its metro network.

Well I do agree that only this city has the tramps but the condition of these tramps is not that much good. I had travelled through them and they are not that much comfortable.

Yes the city still has a fully operational tram network. These trams do not cover the entire length of the city but are a convenient method of transportation, especially since they don't get very crowded.
