rice is the staple food of tamilians and they eat so much of it. they do so because of their type of job they had followed in early days. agriculture was a demanding job ... and thats the reason for their large consumtion of rice... also they have traditional food for each and every festival of theirs

hey dude who can miss the idli and sambar, dosa and sambar combination. I just love this yar. They are really fabulous to taste. Especially the karaikudi specials are superb experience.

We also get many sea foods here. They taste good. As said the sambar, chutney play a very vital role in most of the hotels here. Without that the day will not end for most of the people.

The best thing I like about southy food is Rasam dish. It is an appetiser given just before meals and is really very delicious. Although being light it invigorates the hunger to a very large extent.

Fish and rice are the main food liked by the people of this state. Sea food is rich in some vitamins and protein required by out body.
